← Industries Engineer-to-Order

One product master,
every variant.

Built for electrical equipment and panel manufacturers working to order, where every job is a variant of something and no two customers want the same thing. A 150% engineering BOM resolves each configuration, and the quote becomes the project.

An industry accelerator on the Prabandh platform — the same ERP, PLM, CRM and QMS core every other industry runs on.

The problem

You build electrical equipment to order, and every order is an engineering project.

The quote is engineered, the panel is engineered — and the two are reconciled by hope.

An engineer-to-order panel changes between the quotation and the shop floor, and the margin leaks in that gap. Drawings revise, the BOM revises with them, and whether the built panel matches what was priced is a question nobody can answer quickly. The FAT is a milestone with commercial consequences and is usually managed outside the system entirely.

You will recognise these

  • The as-built BOM and the as-quoted BOM are never formally compared
  • A drawing revision reaches the floor after the panel is partly wired
  • Project cost is known at the end, not during
  • Type-test and FAT evidence is collected for each customer from scratch
  • Attributes like rated voltage or IP class live in the drawing, not the data

What it costs when it goes wrong

On ETO work the margin is made or lost between quotation and dispatch — and by the time the job costs out, the money is already gone.

How Prabandh fixes it

  1. 01

The quote and the build on one object spine

The quotation, the design, the BOM and the project are the same lineage of objects, each with revisions and where-used — so “what changed since we priced it” is a comparison, not an investigation.

  2. 02

Engineering attributes as data, not as drawing text

Rated voltage, rated current, short-circuit withstand, IP rating, form of separation, busbar material and the rest are typed attributes on the object — so they can be filtered, compared and carried into the test plan.

  3. 03

Project cost while it is still actionable

Fifteen-phase project lifecycle with a real critical-path schedule, stage gates that block their successors until decided, and earned value — with the indices suppressed rather than guessed when cost coverage is too thin to be decision-grade.

  4. 04

Test plans and FAT as records

Characteristics, test plans and runs against the object, with the verdict derived from the limits rather than typed — so the FAT pack is produced from evidence already captured.

What changes

You know what a job is costing while you can still do something about it, and the panel that ships is provably the panel that was priced.

What this accelerator adds

Six capabilities you would otherwise build yourself.

Everything below is on top of the shared core — not instead of it.

🌳

150% Engineering BOM

Every option held once on a superset BOM, resolved down to the customer configuration — instead of a new BOM per order that immediately diverges.

🔎

Where-Used Impact

Before changing a component, see every assembly, product and released BOM that consumes it. The question a change order should start with.

📐

CAD & PDM with 3D

Neutral STEP import building the assembly tree and the engineering BOM, with an in-browser 3D viewer — no per-seat CAD licence to look at a model.

📜

FAT from Recorded Results

Factory acceptance certificates generated from measurements actually captured against the test plan, in the format your customer inspector expects — the verdict derived from the limits rather than typed.

🗂️

Quote to Project

A won quote becomes a project with its phases, gates and critical path — rather than being retyped into a schedule that starts out of date.

🔒

Lifecycle with a Real Freeze

A released drawing stops being editable, enforced structurally rather than by naming convention. Changing it means revising it, on the record.

Module suite

Eight integrated modules. One login.

🌳

Engineering BOM

150% superset with variant resolution and baselines.

FAT CertificationType Test RecordsCustomer ApprovalDesign Freeze

A 150% BOM means the variant a customer ordered is reproducible years later, because it was resolved from a master rather than assembled by hand.

Same core, other industries

A capability built for one reaches the rest.

The lifecycle freeze protecting a released drawing is the same one protecting an issued tech pack. The batch genealogy behind a food recall is the same engine behind fibre supplier-lot traceability.

Where we stop today

The honest boundary for electrical equipment & switchgear, so you hear it here rather than three weeks into an evaluation. Everything above is built and reachable; everything below is not.

  • CPRI / ERDA type-test certificates are held as documents; we do not manage the test programme or its validity matrix.
  • IEC 61439 design verification calculations — temperature rise, short-circuit withstand, dielectric — are not computed. Results are recorded from your test house.
  • eCAD import gives the board and its BOM; panel wiring harness and terminal-plan generation are not built.

Several of these are scoped and buildable on the shared core — ask, and we will tell you what it would take rather than whether it is “on the roadmap”.
